Sarmang Dehradun Marathon

Started in 2021 by Sarmang Adventure Tours with a vision to establish Dehradun as a marathon and adventure sports hub, the Sarmang Dehradun Marathon returns for its 5th edition on 4 October 2026, starting and finishing at the International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. Six distances now make up the event: a 51km Ultra, the World Athletics-certified 42.195km Marathon (Boston Marathon qualifying-eligible), 21.0975km Half Marathon, a 10km competitive run, a 5km community race, and a 2km fun run with no minimum age, each carrying its own cut-off time. As the first AIMS member event in Uttarakhand and the wider region spanning Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, the race also serves as a qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group World Rankings. This year's edition carries the theme "Run for Soldiers," honouring the dedication of servicemen and women through the shared act of running. Beyond race day, Dehradun offers runners a chance to explore the region further, from the Forest Research Institute and Tapkeshwar Temple to nearby Mussoorie and Rajaji National Park.
