JBG Kolkata Marathon

Held annually in the last week of November, the JBG Kolkata Marathon returns on 29 November 2026, winding through the scenic neighbourhoods of Saltlake and offering runners a rare chance to explore Kolkata's iconic wetlands along the way. Five categories cater to every level: the competitive Elite 10km and more relaxed Open 10km, the Endura 5K, the Kidrun 2K for younger participants, and a dedicated Special Heroes' Run supporting runners with disabilities. More than just a competition, the event leans into its role as a community celebration, drawing everyone from first-time joggers to seasoned professional athletes into a single, electric race-day atmosphere. The energy of the runners combined with enthusiastic crowd support along the route captures much of what locals describe as the true spirit of the "City of Joy." Organised by Sportiz with AIMS full membership status, the race continues to grow its profile as one of eastern India's most community-driven running events.
