About Bheemeshwari Kayaking & Coracle Rides
Bheemeshwari is a tranquil, forested haven situated perfectly between the Shivanasamudra Falls and Mekedatu. The Cauvery River flows wide and gentle here, creating large natural pools. Paddling a kayak through these calm waters offers a serene escape, while taking a spin in a traditional, round bamboo "coracle" boat adds a deeply cultural and relaxing experience to the GSX GetSetXplore app. The traditional coracles spinning gracefully on the river also make for absolutely fantastic, cinematic B-roll footage.
Best time to visit
August, September, October, November, December, January, February
History & Significance
The region is internationally famous as the natural habitat of the mighty Mahseer, the largest tropical game fish in the world. It used to be a massive catch-and-release fishing hub before strict conservation laws transformed it exclusively into an eco-tourism and adventure sanctuary.
Places to See
The pristine Cauvery riverbanks, the surrounding dense forest (great for spotting Grizzled Giant Squirrels, otters, and river terns), and nearby landmarks like Mekedatu and Shivanasamudra Falls.
