Best time to visit

History & Significance
The peak is named after a local tribal woman, Kalsu, who is believed to have lived in the region. A small temple dedicated to Kalsubai Devi is located at the summit.
Places to See
At the summit of Kalsubai Peak stands a small Kalsubai Temple with seating for around three people, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the vast Bhandardara backwaters. Trekkers are advised to spend about an hour at the peak before beginning the descent to the village. From the north, several prominent forts are visible, including Ramsej, Achala, Ahivant, Saptashrungi, Markandya, Dhodap, Rawlya, Jawlya, and Koldher, while the eastern view reveals Aundh, Vishramgad, Alang, Madan, Kulang, Matheran, and Harishchandragad. The area also provides views toward notable landmarks such as Bhandardara Dam, Arthur Lake, Wilson Dam, and the Alang–Madangad–Kulang fort range, though it is important to note that significant deforestation has occurred in the surrounding region.
