Places to See
Start at Gadgada SANGVI Village: Observe the Veerghal (Heroic Warrior Sculpture) on your return path. Nearby: A well with potable water, plus a Shiv lingam and Nandi. Choose your route: Straight path leads directly to the fort; Right path leads to the Hanuman temple (possible stay). Fort Ascent Details: * **10-min Walk (Straight path):** Reaches a rock patch separated by a crack. Look for small stone steps made by villagers. * **Detour:** Taking a round of the small rock patch and climbing stone steps takes you to a stone craft, heading back toward Gadgada SANGAVI. * **Goddess Bhavani:** The main rock patch path takes you to Goddess Bhavani temple (ascend via stone steps). * **Main Entrance:** Steps once led to the main entrance, but British devastation means **rappelling is mandatory for descent**. * **Cleft:** Rappelling leads to the cleft between Gadgada fort and Amboli hill range. For a detour, Walking Trails descend to Amboli. * **Caves/Tunnel:** A 5-minute walk reveals 3 cavities (man-made caves/crawls – **torch needed**). Locals call the right-turning last cave a tunnel. **Caution:** Scree risk; use grooves for hands. * **Last Rock Patch:** Located on the right side of the fort (facing Gadgada SANGVI). Use tree roots/branches to reach the narrow bar.Climbing Challenges:1. **First Rock Patch (Chimani Climb):** Approx. 15 ft high. Climbing technique must be known. Ascent is challenging near the end. 2. **Second Rock Patch:** Approx. 20 ft high. Has grooves for accessibility. **Rope is required** (tie to tree at top for team assistance). At the Fort Top: * See the damaged entrance and Dewadya nearby. * Damaged structure means **rope-assisted ascending/descending only.** * **Water Tanks:** Look for carved stone water tanks (5 steps to enter). The last 2 tanks show carving work; one has potable water. * **Views (West):** Observe Dangya Pinnacle, Anjaneri, Valadevi, Mumbai - Nashik Highway, Mukane Dam belt, Aundha, Bitanagada forts, and Kalsubai hill range.Descent Options: Rappel down to the Goddess temple or return via the ascent route.

Important Notes
-----**Fort Ascent & Descent Notes** **Technical Skill Required:** Reaching the fort demands technical climbing and rappelling expertise. **Rope Advice (Ascent/Descent):** Carry two ropes (100 ft and 30 ft) to avoid bottlenecks. A narrow passage near the first rock patch limits standing room to 5-6 people, making two ropes necessary. **Descent Only (Temple Side):** To descend to the temple, extend a rope from the doorway. Due to an overhang, you must use the rope in a "U" format for easy retrieval after rappelling. Ascent from the temple is impossible due to broken steps and the rock patch overhang. **Climbing Options:** Free climb is possible for Pinnacle and Wall climbers. **Need Help?** Local guides are available and familiar with the rock patches.
