About Ranjangiri
Nasik: An ancient trade hub! Goods from Dahanu Port reached Nasik via the Jawhar–Gondaghat–Amboli ghat route. Ranjangiri Fort, in the Trimbakeshwar range (Nasik district), was built to protect this vital route, along with Basgad, Harshgad, Anjaneri, and Bhupatgad (near Jawhar). Fun fact: Its southern pinnacle resembles a "Ranjan" (spouted pitcher in Marathi), giving the fort its name!
