About Bhilai Fort
Bhilai Fort: Dagadi Sakode Village. Locals visit the fort's cave yearly during Diwali. Caution: The path is very slippery, and you must cross two rock patches to reach the summit.

Hike to Bhilai Fort Summit! **Trail Highlights & Directions:** * **Start:** 2km from Bhilai, near Dagadi Sakode village (rocky cap visible). * **Access:** Drive 2km from Bhilai towards Patole Sakharpada. Stop at Sakharpada pass (Adhir hill on left, Bhilai fort on right). * **Ascent:** Cross the pass and ascend the connecting mountain ridge. Look for vermillion-covered stones on the right after the pass. * **Path:** Start ascending towards the hill before the fort (keep hill right, valley left) toward the fort’s rock wall. Caution: Path has scree/multiple criss-crossing trails. Stay focused on the rock wall path\! * **Time:** Approx. 45 min from the pass to the bottom of the west rock wall. * **Rock Patch:** Continue 2 min along the rock wall (keep valley left, wall right) to a 10-foot rock patch. Climbing without a rope is possible, but a rope is recommended for safety. * **Fort Edge:** After the climb, see the fort edge and caves below.**Fort Features:** * **Water Tanks:** 5 rock-carved water tanks are found before the caves. * **Caves:** Discover 2 caves ahead. Inside: Idols of Lord Hanuman, Goddess Saptashrungi, and other vermillion-covered rocks. * **Summit:** A narrow path leads from the caves to the small fort summit, marked by a saffron flag post.**Summit Views:** From the top, spot Salher, Salota, Mulher, Pimpla, and Chaulher forts\!

**How to Reach Bhilai Fort** **Base Village:** Dagadi Sakode (28 km from Satana). **Bus:** 3 daily buses from Satana to Dagadi Sakode. **Via Satana:** Reach Satana via Nashik. **By Private Vehicle:** * Nashik - Satana (114 km) * Nashik - Saptashrungi - Abhona - Kanashi (94 km) **Local Landmark:** Bhilai fort is to the right of Sakharpada Pass (approx. 2 km from Bhilai on the way to Sakharpada). The hill on the left is called "Adhir."
