Bishta

Bishta Fort Trek: Essential Info Starting Point: Kodbel village (10km from Namapur, 17km from Satana). Getting Started: Near the S.T. bus stand, look for 4 Veerghals and 1 Veer-Satighal at the road intersection toward Bishta fort. The Trail: Follow the unpaved road. Spot a bungalow and Teakwood trees on the left. Pass two houses and a Veerghal (locally called "Chira"). Cross a dried stream, then ascend/cross a mountain (a few houses nearby). Cross a small river dam via its wall, passing a house and farmland. Cross the river bed. After 5 mins, you'll reach a hill directly in front of the fort base. Cross this hill. Climbing Bishta Fort: The fort spreads South-North. Climb from the Southern side (left side facing the fort). The path traverses to a cleft between the fort and a hill. Look right in the cleft to spot difficult-to-access caves (climbing equipment advised) and water tanks—an ideal lookout spot\! Reach the fort summit in \~5 minutes from the cleft. Fort Summit Highlights: Look right for a dried-up water tank. The wide summit plateau has remnants of 6 structures. Panoramic views of Karha, Ajmera, and Fofira hill forts. Time Estimates: Kodbel to Fort Base: 1.5 hours Climbing the Fort: 45 minutes Fort Visit: 30 minutes Total trip (round trip from Kodbel): 4-5 hours. Important: Visitors are few and the path is unclear. Highly advised to hire a local guide from Kodbel village.
