About Moti Daman Fort
Moti Daman Fort: The Bigger Fort Located on the Southern bank of the Damanganga river (Nani Daman is on the Northern bank). Built by the Portuguese in the 16th Century. Became part of Independent India in 1961.

Explore This Fort: In good condition, featuring a strong fortification wall, bastions (10 Pentagonal, plus capsule bastions - all Portuguese style), and a trench. Today, it houses State Government offices and a lighthouse. Look for the North and South entrances, which boast engraved scriptures and coat of arms. Inside, find the Church of Bom Jesus, known for beautiful wood carvings. Access is via the bridge across the Damanganga river, leading to Nani Daman fort.
