Anjaneri Fort: Birthplace of Lord Hanuman! Named for his mother, Anjani, and father, Pavan. Located near Tryambakeshwar in the Nasik range. Find the Anjaneri Phata branch 20 km from Nasik on the Nasik-Tryambakeshwar road.

Fascinating Spots at Anjaneri Fort: * **Jain Caves:** Near the fort steps from Anjaneri village, find caves with carvings created by people of the Jain religion. * **Anjani Mata Temple 1 (Plateau):** Reach this large temple 10 minutes from the plateau. Good accommodation spot. * **Seeta Cave:** A 10-minute walk left from the first temple leads to Seeta Cave (two rooms, sleeps 10-12). Look for many carvings inside\! * **Anjani Mata Temple 2 (Citadel):** Follow the other path for 20 minutes to the citadel, where you'll find a second large Anjani Mata temple. * **Fort Perimeter:** The fort has a very large perimeter.

How to Reach

Reach Anjaneri Fort: Start from Anjaneri Village. Get off at Anjaneri Phata (20 km from Nasik on the Nasik-Tryambakeshwar road). Anjaneri Village is a 10-15 minute walk from Anjaneri Phata. The path goes through the village, then up steps. Takes ~1.5 hours from the village to reach the plateau. From Anjaneri Village, spot the 'Navara' and 'Navari' pinnacles.
