History & Significance

Siddhagad Fort, built by the Savant clan, faced a British attack in April-May 1818 led by Colonel Henry Imlach (1760-1830). Imlach failed initially due to strong defense, but returned with reinforcements (80th Regiment from Malvan) and successfully captured the fort.

Places to See

Siddhagad Fort, spread across 25 acres (though signs are gone), features a large laterite plateau known as 'Kaap' or 'Sada' in Malvani. This plateau hosts the small village of Siddhagadwadi. From here, enjoy views of the Kasal River and the fort surroundings. Tip: Visit in September (monsoon) to see wild flowers blooming!
