About Sion Fort
Sion Fort: Built by the British under Gerald Aungier on a hill overlooking Mahim Creek to guard a vital trade route. Later captured by the Marathas during the Vasai campaign. Historically stood between British-ruled Mumbai and Portuguese-ruled Sashti/Salsette Island.

Sion Fort: Near Jawaharlal Nehru Udyan. Access path runs through the Archaeological Survey of India branch office at the base. See bastions, old office remnants, a storage room, and a square pond. Head to the central bastion for views of Mahim Creek and the nearby region.
