History & Significance

Nizam Rule Ended! In late A.D. 1632, Mughal commander Mahabatkhan captured Daulatabad Fort (Nizam's capital). Nizam and commander Fatehkhan were imprisoned. King Shahaji, serving Nizam, freed young Murtija Nizamshah and made him crown prince, declaring himself Nizam's advocate. The Nizamshah era finally ended May 6, 1636, when Shahaji allied with Mughals and Adilshah.
