About Sidhhagad

Ancient trade route: Kalyan port goods went to Junnar (major market) via the Kalyan-Mhasa-Ahupe Ghat-Junnar route. The route from Karjat joins at Mhasa. Forts Macchindragad, Gorakhgad, and Siddhagad watched over these routes and Ahupe Ghat. NOTE: Siddhagad is now in Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary; visits are restricted due to forest authorities. Local village relocation may soon cut all human access.

Open year-round!

Places to See

Start from Narivli village to reach the entrance. The fort summit hosts Siddhagadwadi village. Explore the temple for old scriptures and historic stones (hero stones). Find a canon (and its balls!) behind the temple. Head to the citadel via a tough, narrow path past 2 rock-cut caves. At the top: a bastion and water tank. Tip: Hire a local guide!
