History & Significance
Fort History: Once surrounded by sea, now coastal due to reduced sea level. Conquered by the Marathas on Jan 10, 1739, during the "Campaign of Vasai."
Places to See
Explore the Fort! Walls and entrances were buried until the "Kille Vasai Mohim" group cleaned the sand in 2008-09. Entry is partially blocked; you'll crawl into the first level. Past the second door, find 4 amazing, triangular bastions with gun windows/holes. Less than an hour is needed to see the fort.

Find the fort! Go right of Kelve Sheetaladevi temple to Kelve beach. Walk north along the beach to reach the fort hidden in the woods.
