About Banda Fort

Banda Village, on the Terekhol River, was an ancient market and port. Banda Fort was built here, on a hill, to protect the port where goods offloaded from small boats were transported via the Ghats of Maharashtra. The fort's structure shows Portuguese architectural style, reflecting its history under the Marathas, Mughals, Adilshah, and Portuguese. Visit Banda Fort, Rede bastion, and the built-in pond.

Villagers hold a procession here every July 17th. * **Exit:** A small door in the wall (to the right of the police station) leads to police residential quarters. * **Outside View:** A path right of the fort entrance leads to a garden and river bank, offering views of the fort hill and wall (hidden in trees).-----**Roze Ghumat (Yadgir Khijar)** * **Location:** Behind the Mosque at the end of the road past Vitthal temple (in the market area), through a Muslim locality. * **History:** Built in the 16th century by Pirkhan, commander of Adilshah, along with a built-in pond. * **Structure:** Approx. 30' high.
