Nani Daman Fort (St. Jerome Fort) Located on the N. bank of Damanganga river, this smaller fort (compared to Moti Daman on the S. bank) was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. It became part of Independent India in 1961.

Enter the fort via the river side entrance (look for carved scriptures and coat of arms). **Exploring the Fort:** * Step onto the platform on the right and walk the fort's perimeter. * Bastions are shaped like three arrows. * The main entrance is on the east side, with steps leading down to the door. * Find a small doorway next to the main entrance. * A school and church are located beside the small doorway. * A flag post is installed on the western bastion.
