History & Significance

Raikot Fort: Built by King Ahir primarily as a watch tower for vital trade routes. Note: Its size suggests no garrison was stationed here, and historical information is scarce.

Places to See

Explore the ruins! See fort wall remnants in a trench on the way from Raikot village. Note: The fort is now a farm, contributing to its ruin. Features include a lake and a bastion. Access from Morkaranj village features rock-built stairs. Near the stairs is a cave (10x20), but overnight stays are not advised. The beautiful, steep valley surrounding the fort on three sides is called Makad-dari.
