About Bandra Fort
Mumbai, 7 Islands & Mahim Creek: Once separated from the mainland, Mahim Creek was a vital trade route, protected by Mahim Fort. To boost safety, the Portuguese built Bandra Fort near today's Bandra reclamation (part of the former Sashti/Salsette island).

Fort Highlights: Conserved by Archeology Dept. Features a garden by "Bandra Land & Garden Society." Main entrance has a Portuguese stone inscription. Use the stairs at the second entrance to climb up. No other remnants remain.
