About Baner Hill

Separating the suburbs of Baner and Pashan, this hill is the third-highest point in Pune city. It is a popular spot for fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers, offering a panoramic 360-degree view of the city skyline and the surrounding hills.

History & Significance

Home to the 400-year-old Tukai Mata Mandir, built by the Kalamkar family. It also houses the Baneshwar Cave Temple, which local folklore dates back to the Pandava era, though architectural evidence suggests a Rashtrakuta origin (approx. 2,500 years old).

How to Reach

By Bus: Take any bus towards Baner or Pashan and get down at Sai Chowk or the Baner-Pashan Link Road.By Road: Drive to the narrow lane behind the Aundh-Baner Link Road or the 24K Sereno area in Baner to find the trailhead.

Important Notes

Notes: Safety: Access is officially restricted after sunset (police patrols often clear the hill by 6:30 PM). Environment: It is a zero-litter zone; visitors are encouraged to help water the saplings using the cans provided at the top. Wildlife: Be cautious of stray dogs (mostly friendly) and occasional sightings of wild hares or peacocks. Nearby police station: Chatuhshringi Police Station / Baner Police Chowky Nearby hospital: Jupiter Hospital (Baner) / Medipoint Hospital (Aundh)
