Trek the famous Mahipatgad–Sumargad–Rasalgad range in the Sahyadris! Located 12 miles east of Khed taluka. Mahipatgad is the tallest of the three forts, covering 200 acres.

**Fort Highlights & Entrances** The fort's natural defense: steep mountain walls! No perimeter walls were needed on most edges, only where ascent was possible. Note: these old walls are now in ruins. Explore 6 main entrances: * Laldevdi (NE) * Pusati (E) * Khed (S) * Shivganga (W) * Kotwal (N) * Yashwant (SE)Sadly, all doorways are dilapidated, with only traces remaining. **Key Spots & Stay:** * Find a Shivlinga near the Shivganga entrance. * out stairways near Pusati entrance. * Visit the Lord Hanuman temple near the Kotwal entrance. * Lord Pareshwar temple is available for stays. * Potable water is available in the well opposite the Pareshwar temple.The fort's forested plateau hides many unstudied ruins. Heaps of unused mortar suggest development may have stopped halfway.

How to Reach
Trek to Mahipatgad: 3 Ways to Reach!1. Via Khed Morning bus from Khed to Dahiwali (1 hr travel). From Dahiwali, follow the unpaved road through 2 clefts to the fort top (4 hrs). 2. Via Wadi Jaitapur Bus from Khed to Wadi Jaitapur. Continue to Wadi Beldar via unpaved road (2-3 hrs). The clear path from Wadi Beldar reaches the top in 1 hour. 3. Via Rasalgad-Sumargad Reach Mahipatgad from Rasalgad via Sumargad (approx. 7 hrs). This route passes through a thick forest—exercise high precaution to stay on the path\!
