History & Significance
Mandangad Fort: Built by King Bhoj. In 1661, held by Jaswantrao Dalvi (Adilshahi Sardar), who had besieged Vishalgad during Shivaji Maharaj's escape from Panhalgad. When Shivaji Maharaj defeated Kartalabkhan and marched to Dabhol, Jaswantrao fled to Shringarpur, giving the fort to Shivaji Maharaj without a fight. Later held by Angres and Siddis, until the British captured it in 1818.
