Places to See
Enter over stone-stacked fortifications. Cannons are mounted on wheeled wooden rails, flanked by two carved stone water tanks. **South End Highlight:** A huge, well-built tank (50 long, 20 wide, 15 deep). Unique construction: one monolith stone side, three sides built with arranged stones. Stairs are carved into the west wall. Clean water system: Water runs down the slope, passing through circular ditches (6 in. deep, 1 ft. diameter) to separate sludge. Note: The tank currently retains little water. **Next:** Walk North to the decrepit West-Facing Main Entry Door. **Nearby:** A wall indicates a smaller stone-built water tank. Its structure mirrors the large tank (one monolith stone side, three built with stones). A small water-way (Char) fills a pre-tank, settling sludge before clean water passes to the main small tank. **Pathways:**1. Left of the destroyed entry: A narrow path leads down, past remains of porches and fort wall steps. 2. Follow this path until it forks: * Left leads to the broken idol of Lord Maruti. * Right leads to the 3 Caves.Return to the fort top after visiting the caves. **Viewpoint:** Devakop Lake of Palghar can be seen to the South.
