Places to See
**Fort Highlights: Must-See Spots** **The Ladder Route Trek:** Follow the Pravara river through a dense forest. Reach the second plateau—left goes to Harishchandragad fort; straight ahead is the ladder route to the first fort entrance. **Key Landmarks:** * Idol of Lord Ganesh carved on the first door. * Inside: Caves to the right, another doorway to the left. * Past the second door: A ruined round bastion and three nearby water tanks. * Spot demolished structures and proceed on a 10-minute trail to the ruined Konkan doorway (towards Samrad village). *Caution: The route descending from here is uneven and unsafe.* * Bypass the door to find two large water tanks. Local belief suggests a secret underground chamber here\!**The Needle Eye Viewpoint:** Continue past many water tanks to reach a wind-formed 'needle eye' in the hill. From here, you can see multiple forts: Alang, Madan, Kulang, Kalsubai, Ajoba, Harishchandragad, Khutta, and Mahuli. **Lower Doorway & Pinnacle:** To the lower left, find a well-preserved door with 30-40 rock-cut stairs, carved directly into the rock. The Khutta pinnacle is visible from here. **Pravara River Origin:** The origin of the Pravara river is on the other side of the needle eye hole. *Total time to visit the entire fort: 2 hours.*
