Rawlya & Jawlya Forts: Mountain Cap Adventure **Location:** Located atop a mountain cap near Babapur village. The access road (from Babapur towards Mulane) runs along the ridge connecting Markandya (West) to the Rawlya–Jawlya plateau (East). **Approach:** Ascend the mountain to reach the base camp between the forts (where a few people stay). Local assistance is recommended for navigation. **Rawlya Fort (Tough Climb):** * Trail starts before the houses; tough to find (get local help\!). * Features a cavern with a natural rock chimney for climbing. * **NOTE:** A rope is needed after climbing the chimney to reach the top. * Highlights: Few remnants and dried-up cisterns.**Jawlya Fort (Easier Ascent):** * Clearer trail and rock-cut steps. * Trail goes over the mountain trunk to the rock-cut steps. * Sights: Abandoned rock-cut caves, a stone inscription at the main entrance. * Left side entrance: Caves and cisterns. * Other side: Rock-cut water cisterns. * **WARNING:** None of the cisterns have potable water.**View:** Breath-taking views from both forts\! From Jawlya, you can spot Dhodap, Ikhara, Kanhergad, Kanchna, and Indrai forts.

How to Reach
How to Get There: Reach the plateau via Mulane village, located on the Vani–Kalwan link road. Vani is 43 km north of Nashik on SH22. Alternatively, get off 30 minutes before Mulane (ahead of Babapur) at the ridge connecting the twin forts and Markandya fort. From the ridge, you can access the plateau.

EPIC TREK ALERT: Visit Rawlya – Jawlya and Markandya forts! A private vehicle makes this range trek easy.
