Korigad & Ghangad Forts: West of Mulshi Dam, in Mawal of Korbarase. Korigad is near Savashni Ghat (connects Lonavla & Pali) and its fortification is intact! Plan 3-4 days to explore. Epic cross-country trek includes: Korigad, Ghangad, Tailbaila Walls, Sudhagad, and Sarasgad.

History & Significance
**1657:** Shivaji Maharaj annexed this fort, integrating it into Swarajya along with Lohgad, Visapur, Tung, and Tikona. **1818:** Col. Prother invaded on March 11 but failed after prolonged fighting. He finally succeeded on March 14 by destroying the ammunition store with a cannonball. The English also conquered Ghangad simultaneously.
Places to See
Koraigad: Wall-like fort with a huge plateau top. Key Features: * **Ramparts:** Approx. 1.5 km long. Walk the complete top via the bailey. * **Approach (Peth Shahpur route):** Find caves, cisterns, and a Lord Ganesh idol. * **Ganesh Darwaaja Entrance:** See remnants of old buildings. * **Korai Devi Temple:** Recently renovated. Features a 'DEEPMALA' and a 4-foot tall idol of Goddess Korai Devi. * **Defenses:** Many bastions on the Southern side. * **Cannons:** 6 total. The largest, **'Laxmi'**, is next to the Korai Devi temple. * **Other Sites:** Two more temples, two large ponds, and two caves housing an idol of Lord Vishnu (holding Conch, Discus, Mace, and Lotus).**Stunning Views:** See Nagphani Point, Tung, Tikona, Matheran, Prabalgad, Karnala, and Manikgad ranges.
