About Yawal Fort (Nimbalkar Fort)

Yawal Fort (Nimbalkar Fort) is located in Yawal village on the Chopda-Burhanpur trade route. Built to protect the marketplace and trade through the Satpuda ghats, it stands on a small riverside hill. You can easily visit Yawal, Pal, and Rasalpur Sarai forts in a single day!

Fort Overview: Accessible via a road from Yawal village, adjacent to the Court building. See the fortified wall and two bastions (half brick, half stone) near the court. Path leads through bush to the devastated entrance and up to the summit. The fort is currently ill-maintained with remnants of structures and two dried water tanks. Total: 7 bastions. Visit time: ~15 minutes.
