About Gorakhgad(Manmad)
Explore the twin forts of Ankai-Tankai near Manmad, Nashik district. Just 3km away is Gorakhnath hill (Ambewadi), a sacred spot with water tanks/caves suggesting it was once a watch tower. It likely shares the era of the Bramhani caves on Ankai-Tankai. Later, the Nath tradition saints took control of Gorakhgad (Manmad). **4 Forts in 2 Days Itinerary:** Visit Ankai-Tankai (5-6 hrs) starting early from Manmad. Then proceed to Gorakhgad. **Overnight Stay Options:** Temple at Gorakhgad base village OR head 7km to Katra fort's base village, Katarwadi, and stay at the Hanuman temple before visiting Katra the next day.
