Paranda Fort: Land Fort Gem! Explore Paranda, an excellent land fort situated right in the village center. A moat protects this significant Indian fort, boasting high security with intact construction features. Allow 2+ hours for a full visit! Key Features: * **Moat & Bridge:** Protected by a moat; enter via a retractable bridge (north-east side) to the first wooden entrance. * **Defense:** Double-layered walls, 18 big bastions, and a corridor designed for positioning cannons against invaders. * **Entrances:** Multiple entrances, including a magnificent main entrance. The 4th entrance is 40-50 feet high; nearby bastions reach 60 feet. * **Cannons:** Large collection of cannons, many made of Panchdhatu (5-metal alloy). Look for crocodile and flower-petal shapes. The largest, 'Malik-e-Maidan,' is on the main entrance top. Many feature Arabic inscriptions. * **Temple/Mosque:** A building, now a mosque, was originally the temple of Lord Mankeshwar (proven by construction style/pillars). Steps lead to its top. * **Wells:** Two wells are present; one in front (approx. 50 ft deep) and another big well with steps inside. * **Shrines:** Find the Mahadev temple near the main entrance path. A small room near guard porches holds a 4-foot tall idol of Lord Ganesh, alongside other statues. * **Guards:** Porches for guards and cannons (three found in one set of porches) are visible on the ramparts.Walk the fortification walls for a grand, well-planned view!

Get to Paranda Fort! **Location:** Border of Usmanabad & Solapur districts. **By Road:** * Mumbai to Paranda: 360 Km * Pune to Paranda: 211 Km * Buses run from Solapur (via Barshi, 27KM distance). * The Pune-Bhoom bus also stops at Paranda village.**By Train:** * Alight at **Kurduwadi station** (on Pune-Solapur line). * State transport buses run from Kurduwadi to Paranda every half an hour.
