About Vallabhgad(Hargapur)
The main entrance arc is intact, featuring a small, Gomukhi-style doorway. Inside, find the Lord Hanuan temple. Near the fort bastion is the Goddess Margubai temple and a lamp post. The eastern side holds the ancient Lord Siddheshwar temple. Below it, a large cave houses the Holy Padukas. Legend says a secret narrow path runs from this cave straight to Sankeshwar! A square well sits in the fort's center, accessible from behind the Hanuman temple after descending 20-25 massive steps through an arc. A second large well taps water for the entire fort. Note: The fortified wall is mostly in ruins. A northern bastion is built *inside* the wall, suggesting its role was internal surveillance. Despite its size, this Shivaji Era fort is historically significant as it was built outside Maharashtra.
