Places to See
Discover Santoshgad Fort! This historic fort has 3 distinct sections: Defensive walls, the flat mountain portion, and the "Balekilla" (top citadel). Access the fort's main entrance by taking the path left of the monastery, past a small temple. * Entrance: While the main gate is largely gone, guard porches remain intact. * Inside: After entry, find the 'Hanuman Take' tank, remnants of old structures/warehouses, and a large stepped water tank. A Shiva temple is also inside. The outer walls and Bastions are well-preserved. Allow a couple of hours for a full visit. Watch the surrounding area!
