Places to See
Discover Nimgiri & Hanumantgad! Separated by a cleft, your ascent begins between them. **The Trail:** Head towards the electric tower (across from the primary school). Past the tower, find farm ruins, a beautiful idol, temple remains, and a water tank to the left. Continue to see idols, Veerghals, and carved scriptures. **Key Sights:** * **Watch Cave:** Look left while ascending steps. The path is broken, but the cave (visible from Hanumantgad) was used for watch-keeping. * **Fort Keeper's Cave:** Located near the devastated fort entrance. * **Water Tanks:** Start the trail right. The first of 2 tanks has potable water. Find 2 more tanks ahead, followed by the Goddess Gajalakshmi temple and two tanks with unclean water. * **Shrines:** Three shrines are visible above the Gajalakshmi temple area. * **5 Caves:** Further ahead, explore 5 caves. The last one includes a water tank and a room, and one cave can shelter 5-6 people.**Summit View:** Climb the uppermost hill to see remains of mansions/houses. Enjoy views of Harishchandrgaad fort, Chavand fort, and Tolarkhind. **Overnight Stay:** The Goddess Kalubai temple (right of the Veerghals) is suitable for overnight stays. Two more Veerghals are behind the temple. **Hanumantgad Entrance:** The entrance and bastions are intact, though the arch is covered by mud. Proceed right along the fort wall to find a huge water tank. Ascend to find more house remains. A plateau to the left holds three more water tanks. A dried-up tank is visible near the entrance on your way back.
