About Kevani Plateau
Known as the "Kaas of Palghar," this vast laterite plateau transforms into a vibrant carpet of wildflowers (like Smithia, Karvy, and Sonki) post-monsoon. It offers a 360-degree view of the Surya River and the surrounding Mahalaxmi and Asherigad peaks.

History & Significance
Historically a grazing ground for the local Warli and Koli tribes. The plateau is part of the traditional forest lands of the Dahanu region, known for its rich tribal heritage and proximity to the ancient trade routes leading to the coast.

The "Flower Carpet" (seasonal), Sunrise/Sunset points, views of the Surya Dam backwaters, and the nearby Mahalaxmi Temple (Dahanu).

How to Reach
By Train: Get down at Palghar or Dahanu Road station (Western Line). Take a bus or private vehicle to Kasa/Charoti and then to Kevani village. By Road: Drive on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway (NH48). Take the exit at Charoti Naka towards Jawhar/Dahanu to reach Kevani.
Important Notes
Eco-Sensitive Zone: Do not litter plastic; carry all trash back to the city. Footwear: Wear shoes with good grip as the laterite rock can be slippery when wet. Timing: Best visited in the early morning to catch the flowers in full bloom before the afternoon sun. - StayNo formal hotels on the plateau. Local homestays are available in Kevani village. Camping is popular on the plateau during winters, though you must carry all gear.
- FoodNo food stalls on the plateau. Authentic tribal Maharashtrian meals (Nachni Bhakri, local vegetables) can be requested from villagers at the base.
- WaterNot available on the plateau. There are seasonal streams during monsoons, but they dry up quickly. It is mandatory to carry at least 2 liters of water.
