About Kharghar Hill
Often called the "Lungs of Navi Mumbai," these hills provide a sprawling green escape from the city. The area features a mix of paved roads (popular for cycling and running) and raw jungle trails leading to hidden waterfalls and tribal hamlets.

History & Significance
Historically inhabited by the Thakur and Katkari tribes in hamlets like Fanaswadi and Chaphewadi. It was integrated into the Navi Mumbai development plan by CIDCO to serve as a protected green zone and nature park.

How to Reach
By Train: Get down at Kharghar or CBD Belapur Station (Harbour Line). Take an auto to the RBI Colony (Belapur) or Sector 35 (Kharghar) entry point. By Road: Accessible via the Sion-Panvel Highway; park near the CIDCO Nature Tourism Centre.
Important Notes
Strict No-Plastic Zone: Forest officials may check bags. Safety: Avoid the deep pools of Pandavkada during heavy rains as the current is deceptive. Permissions: Overnight camping usually requires prior permission from the forest office or booking through an authorised campsite. Facilities
- StayNo overnight stay on the hill itself except at private campsites like iCamp Resort. Plenty of luxury and budget hotels are available at the base in Kharghar and CBD Belapur (e.g., Vivanta, ibis).
- FoodA small agro-farm at the top (Fanaswadi) sometimes serves basic breakfast/tea. However, there are no commercial stalls along the road. It is best to eat at the numerous cafes in Kharghar Sector 35 or Belapur before/after the hike.
- WaterNot available along the trail. Trekkers must carry at least 2 liters of water. Potable water is only available at the base or at the top-most village houses.
