History & Significance

Malpe is an ancient port town, mentioned as far back as the 2nd century by the Greek geographer Ptolemy. While it remains one of Karnataka's largest fishing harbors, it has transitioned in the last two decades into a major tourism hub, becoming the first beach in India to offer 24/7 free Wi-Fi and a full suite of modern water sports.
