Places to See

Nhavigad (also called Rantangad - not Ratangad, Ahmednagar district) is a fascinating spot! Find water tanks and a temple on the way up. The steps remain, but the entrance is destroyed. The fort has a narrow, pinnacle-like apex requiring natural vertical climbing to reach the top. See the fort in about 30 minutes. You'll find 3-4 tanks and house remnants.

Journey & Transport

How to Reach

Via Vadakhel: Reach Taharabad (Nasik) for Baglaan forts. For Nhavigad, go to Mangi-Tungi village from Taharabad. Walk to Vadakhel, then to Pataalwadi (base village). This walk takes ~1.5 hours. From Pataalwadi, reach the mountain plateau, where two paths lead to the rock steps: 1) Straight, steep, tough ascent (top point). 2) Turns around the pinnacle (water tanks found here). Ascent from Pataalwadi to the top takes ~1.5 hours. Caution: Scree on steps requires careful ascent.
