About Nishani Motte

Nishani Motte is a striking peak in the Talakaveri range that offers a quieter, less commercialized trekking experience compared to Tadiandamol. The trail takes you through a beautiful cross-section of aromatic coffee and cardamom plantations, dense Shola forests, and finally opens up to rolling alpine meadows and a panoramic 360-degree view at the summit.

Best time to visit

November, December, January, February, March, April

History & Significance

The name "Nishani Motte" translates to "Marked Hill" in the local Kodava language. During the British colonial era, the peak was used as a prominent geographical landmark and navigation point to find directions across the densely forested mountain paths.
