Sar Pass is a visually spectacular, snow-clad mountain pass. It is highly regarded as one of the best introductory Himalayan crossover treks, offering a dramatic terrain transition from dense pine forests and sprawling meadows to a freezing, panoramic summit.

History & Significance
In the local dialect, "Sar" translates to "lake." The pass gets its name from a small, often frozen alpine lake that trekkers must cross while navigating the high ridge between Tila Lotni and Biskeri.
Places to See
Kasol (often called the Mini Israel of India), Grahan Village, the vast alpine meadows at Min Thach, the high-altitude camp of Nagaru, and sweeping views of the Tosh Valley.

How to Reach
By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu). • By Road: Take an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi or Chandigarh to Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, take a local bus or shared taxi to Kasol (~30 km).
Important Notes
Acclimatization: The climb to the Nagaru camp and the pass involves steep inclines and thin air; proper pacing is essential. Gear: UV-protection sunglasses and sturdy, waterproof trekking shoes are mandatory for the snow sections. - StayMostly expedition-style camping in tents at designated sites (Min Thach, Nagaru, Biskeri Thach). Traditional homestays are available for the first night in Grahan village.

- WaterSourced from natural mountain streams and waterfalls along the trail. It is highly recommended to carry water purification tablets or a filter.
