About Sutarwadi Hill

Sutarwadi Hill is a vital "green lung" for western Pune. It forms part of the continuous hill range that separates the Pashan and Baner suburbs. It is slightly less commercialized than the main Baner Hill, offering a quieter environment for birdwatching and fitness activities.

History & Significance

Historically part of the village pasture and forest land of the Sutarwadi and Pashan communities. In recent decades, it has become a focal point for massive citizen-led plantation drives aimed at restoring the local biodiversity of the Deccan Trap.

How to Reach

By Bus: Take PMPML Bus Route 30 (from Shaniwar Wada) or Route 43 (from Katraj) and get down at Sutarwadi or Pashan Lake stop.By Road: Drive to Sutarwadi Gaon via the Baner-Pashan Link Road or Sus Road and follow the local trails leading up from the village.

Important Notes

Safety: Not recommended to stay on the hill after sunset as the area is secluded and lighting is minimal. Environment: Strictly a "No Plastic" zone; visitors are encouraged to participate in local tree-watering activities during the summer. Nearby police station: Pashan Police Chowki / Chaturshringi Police Station Nearby hospital: Jupiter Hospital (Baner) / Shashwat Hospital (Aundh)
