Jangli Jaigad: Fort in a Deep Forest! Located 12 km from Koyna Dam in Koynanagar. Expect wildlife (Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear) in this protected sanctuary. Overnight stay is PROHIBITED. Easy single-day trek through dense forest. View the Konkan region from this plateau. Used historically to watch the Kumbharli ghat region.

Built on a spur of the Sahyadri hills, access is via the Koynanagar side toward the Konkan region. Look for the devastated, tree-hidden stone entrance. **Key Features:** * Circumvent two rock pinnacles, locally called "Deepmaal." * Ruins of a temple and Goddess idol nearby. * A Saffron flag marks the edge.**Panoramic Views:** * **Right:** Kolkewadi dam & Kolkewadi fort. * **Front:** Chiplun town & Vasihthi creek (Arabian Sea visible on clear days). * **Left:** Kumbharli ghat.**Visit Time:** 30 minutes.

How to Reach
Access Details: Start at Koynanagar (43km from Chiplun, on Chiplun-Patan-Karad route). From Koynanagar, travel 11km to Navja village (S.T. buses available). Drive/Walk: Proceed 500m on the road toward Panchdhara tunnel to reach a check post. Cross the check post, and after another 500m, take the small unpaved road to the left (private vehicles can reach this point). The Trek:1. Trail starts here (dense forest cover). 2. 30 min walk to a stream (water available until February). 3. 15 min more to cross the main Sahyadri hill range, reaching the Konkan side. 4. Final 30 min hike to the fort edge.
Important Notes
Hire a local guide from Navja village—forest officers require it and they help navigate the dense forest. IMPORTANT: The ascend and descend routes are the SAME; there is no path to descend into the Konkan region.
