Places to See
**Fort Ascent Guide** Start at the base village: Pethewadi (7 km from Pachnai). The accessible route is 5 km from Pachnai, marked by a Forest Dept. cement structure. You can reach this point by foot or private vehicle. **The Climb:**1. **Ascend:** Start on the fort hill ridge (runs North-South). 2. **10-min Walk:** Reach an open space with vermillion-painted stones. 3. **30-min Climb:** Rock-cut steps lead to rock-cut holds. Caution\! These holds are very narrow (one foot only) and cut diagonally; the ascent is tiresome. 4. **Bhairoba's Cave:** After the holds, find this rock-carved cave below ground. Inside: Bhairoba idol (vermillion painted). Outside: 2 snake sculptures. 5. **Proceed South:** Follow the narrow path (valley to the left, fort hill to the right). 6. **5-min Walk:** Pass two rock-carved water tanks (currently filled with rocks). 7. **Key Spots:** See two large, round rocks and the small "Vetal cha Challa" temple. 8. **Fort Summit:** Head back to the water tanks. Another route leads to the summit in about 5 minutes. * **Summit View:** Narrowing to the south, broad to the north. Harishchandragad is visible to the east.**Total Fort Visit Time:** About 1 hour.
