Kanchan Fort: Sentinel of the Ajantha-Saatmal Range. This fort, located in the East-West running Ajantha-Saatmal mountain range, overlooks a key trade route. Nearby Forts: Achala, Ahivant, Markandeya, Ravla-Javla, Kanhergad, Dhodap. History: Site of the Battle of Kanchanbari ('Bari' means valley).

Kanchan Fort: Explore Kanchan-Manchan! The fort has three sections, two known as Kanchan-Manchan. Access: A 3-hour trail from Kheldari village leads to a rock wall with built-in steps. Before the steps (right): Discover caves. At the top: Find 5 rock-cut water tanks. Descent: After the tanks, go down the steps and traverse the rock wall to the west side. Western Side: See remnants of the entrance gate and fortification wall, 2 tombs, and structural ruins. West Edge: Features two more rock surfaces, each with one water tank.
