About Manikdurg
Manikdurga Fort: Near Mandki village, Chiplun taluka. Discovered by Archaeologist Sachin Joshi (Pune). Historically protected trade routes from Palshet port alongside Navtedurga, Kasardurga, and Bhairavgad. Also known as "Durgecha Dongar" (Mountain of Durga).

History & Significance
Manikdurga: Once part of the Vijaynagar Empire, it was captured and utterly destroyed by Adilshah. The fort's ruins are now a forgotten memory.

How to Reach
Get there via Chiplun! It's a 27 km drive to Mandki village (via Savarde). Savarde is on the Mumbai-Goa highway. Directions from Savarde: Mandki is 7 km away, or 2 km from Savarde station. Fort Base: From the Amba stop in Mandki, take the road on the left to reach the base. Trek Info: The path is covered by dense trees. Allow 1 hour to reach the top.
