About Pimplas Kot
The Ulhas River starts in Lonavla and meets the Arabian Sea near Vasai. Kalyan, an ancient port on this river, was vital for transporting goods across the ghats. To protect this trade route, various regimes built forts and watch posts including Vasai, Dharavi, Ghodbunder, Nagla bunder, Gaymukh, Pimplas watch post, Durgadi, and Pimplas Kot.

Kapridev Watch Post Find this small fort/watch post on a hill, 10 minutes from the village. Located near the Ulhas River's 'S' bend, with Dombivli (South) and Pimplas village (North) nearby. Locals call it Kapridev. On the hill stands a 20-high monument (likely a one-story building originally; roof missing). Inside, look for vermilion-covered stones in a half-circle arch corner, referred to as Kapri dev. No other remains are visible.

How to Reach
Ways to Reach Kapri Dev Hill (Watch Post) **Option 1: Via Pimplas Village** Pimplas is on the Thane – Kalyan (Mumbai – Agra) highway. * 11 km from Kalyan (towards Thane). * 15 km from Thane (towards Kalyan). * Take the Pimplas village diversion, then follow the path to the watch post/Kapri Dev hill. * *Landmark:* Pass the statue of Mhatre Pehelwan (famed local wrestler). The route continues through dense vegetation.**Option 2: Ferry & Walk** Take a ferry from Reti Bunder (Dombivli west) to Velha village across the creek. * Pimplas village is 3 km from Velha jetty.**Option 3: Quick Route via Railway Bridge** Use the Saat-Pool railway bridge on the Diva-Vasai route. * The watch post is 1 km after crossing the bridge. * *Note:* Both Options 2 and 3 bypass Pimplas village. * *Nearby:* The route passes by a cremation ground (Smashaan) just below the hill.
