About Revdanda
Revdanda Fort: A Strategic Seaside Gem! Located where the Kundalika River meets the Arabian Sea. Historically known as Revatikshetra (Mahabharata era). Portuguese fortified this strategically important village in the 15th century.

History & Significance
Fort History Highlights: 1516: Portuguese built a factory, known as "Chowkoni Buruj" (square bastion). Walls finished 1521-1524. 1528: Capt. Soj (Portuguese) started fort construction. July 22, 1683: Marathas besieged Revdanda but withdrew after Portuguese attacked Fonda. Nov 25, 1740: Treaty: Portuguese handed Revdanda and Korlai forts to Marathas, taking Sashti Island villages. 1806: British took charge of Revdanda. 1817: Angres conquered the fort. 1818: British regained control.

Explore the 5 km fort circumference! Note: Most areas are private/inaccessible due to the encircling wall. Find the Portuguese emblem on the main entrance (modern entrance was built by demolishing a wall section). Inside, see 3 cannonballs near the entrance, plus one stuck in the wall upstairs. Discover dilapidated manors, a tower, shoreline remnants, and an old, defunct tunnel beneath the main walls.
